Generate Voices at The Transport Forum (Every Passenger’s Voice Matters) 30th May 2025

Most recently, Generate Voices attended the Learning Disability Transport Forum, which was the last one of 2025 due to a review of funding that TFL has used to organize the forums.

People First and BILD worked with Generate to put this last forum together by doing a secret shopper mission for TFL by riding the IFS Cloud cable car from North Greenwich to the Royal Docks.

Statements were shown on screen about the cable car event. Those who attended had their say on their experience of the cable car and how it can be improved in the future.

During the meeting, Michael Barratt, the Construction Advisory and Innovations Manager for TFL discussed how road works affect those with disabilities who are traveling and might feel less safe if their path is blocked and some temporary lights that are not in the right position for a person who is visually impaired. This means the person traveling may struggle to get across the road if the temporary lights are in the wrong place and the person who is blind cannot feel the cone on the traffic light console if it is in the wrong place or might have trouble reaching it.

Attendees discussed how services can be improved and what we would like to see TFL work on in the future.

We would like to thank TFL, BILD and People First for arranging these Transport Forum events and would like them to continue if the funding is there for it.

We’re hoping Transport for London will get enough funding to keep the Learning Disability Transport Forum going on for longer.
