How do our members want to be seen by society?
Generate members want to be seen as members of society just like everyone else including them in conversations, don’t ignore them or talk over them!
Work with them, support them to be independent and pay attention to how they communicate.
They play football
They are poets
They are artists
They are volunteers
They go to work, and some are managers.
Our own Generate Voices members wanted to share their words of wisdom with you all for Learning Disability Week:
“Open your eyes and mind!”
“Do no waste time!”
“Speak to me and not the person next to me!”
“Because we don’t hide, we turn the tide!”
“See another person’s mind, not your own!”
