Rix Hackathon20 At University of East London

On The 12th July 2024 Generate Attended the Rix Hackathon20 event at the University Of East London where we were met by Lewisham Speaking Up who also attended on invitation. A Hackathon is where people come together from different organizations and solve problems to find easier solutions. We created a team with other individuals and called it CD which stands for Creative Developers.

The team created challenges for other teams to solve we looked at a challenge that was very interesting called “Staff Understanding What Means To Me” That was a challenge worth doing and solving. We began discussing a plan on how to find a solution to that problem and what the problem was.

We then came up with a solution called Multi Me thanks to Doctor Nicola Grove’s suggestion. The team set to work on designing a badge representing Multi Me so when someone like a doctor doesn’t want to know about a patient with Learning Disabilities or Autism. He or She would see that the person with the badge in mind it could help the Doctor, who is seeing the patient with these conditions, the one thing Doctors and Nurses have is curiosity so using that might intrigue some of them to understanding about the person with a Learning Disability or Autism if they see a badge that says Multi Me Ask Me, the Doctor would say “Multi Me what is that?” and the individual can show them on their phone so that the doctor could see then he or she might gasp and say “Oh I didn’t know you had these conditions I am terribly sorry if I misunderstood in any way lets see what I can help you with”

The Solution was very convincing and for anyone using a Multi Me badge or can go onto the website and start making a profile like Facebook, X or Instagram. Multi Me – Support Networking
