Its’ safeguarding week, so we wanted to share a few tips with you as everyone deserves to feel safe and happy.
What Is Safeguarding?
Safeguarding is about making sure you’re protected from harm, abuse, or mistreatment. It is about making sure you are treated with respect.
It involves protecting you from things like bullying, neglect, or abuse, and ensuring that you have people you can trust who will help and support you when you need it.
It means having the support you need and knowing what to do if something feels wrong.
How Can You Stay Safe?
- The people around you:
It’s important to know who you can trust, like family members, friends, support workers, or teachers.
- If it feels wrong, speak up:
If you feel uncomfortable, scared, or upset, tell someone right away. It could be someone you trust or a professional who can help you.
- Know who to ask for help:
If something doesn’t feel right, talk to someone you trust. There are always people and services available if you need help, whether it’s your doctor, a support worker, or a special helpline.
What to Do If You’re Worried
If you’re worried that something is wrong, don’t keep it to yourself.
Speak to someone you trust or call a helpline.
There are people who care about you and will help you stay safe.
