On The 7th of February 2025
Generate Voices attended the Learning Disability Transport Forum hosted by Transport For London, BILD and People First the location was at TFL Offices in North Greenwich
We traveled there by train from Clapham Junction station to Waterloo then changed for the Jubilee Line to North Greenwich.
Refreshments were served with teas and coffees.
The meeting started and it was about confidence in traveling we described our journey and how it was.
After the ice breaker the Google street view team spoke about their big project using street view on Google Maps inside National Rail stations and London Underground Stations.
Most members learned about using street view on mobile devices that use Google Maps and after scanning a QR code we got access to street view which took all members to St Pancras International station.
Everyone had a chance to ask a few questions about street view
Malachi asked about will the app tell you if the escalators were out of action or not but one of the team said it doesn’t.
We then had a lunch break before we started discussions on Disability and equality training for TFL staff.
We discussed experiences with Transport For London staff and how they should treat a person with a learning disability or autism.
Generate Voices had a lovely time visiting TFL offices in North Greenwich.
We like to thank Transport For London, BILD and People First for hosting this event we would like to do more discussions & workshops with you.
