On the 26th July 2024 while traveling on a boat to Greenwich Pier for the My Life On a Plate event Generate Attended Bild’s Big Red Book review meeting on Zoom which was from 10AM to 12PM. The Big Red Book is Transport for London’s (TFL) official guidelines for all bus drivers in London.
It has pages giving drivers guides to diversions, delays, even helps them to understand people with learning disabilities, Autism and other hidden disabilities too. The Book also shows when using the PA System to speak to the passengers.
Nic explained how he liked the session and said “I really enjoyed the meeting with TFL group, and I have learnt a lot of useful things such as I now know that the IBus is or that the bus drivers must follow the big red book guidelines. I enjoyed interacting with other members and hearing about their experiences. I am looking forward to any future meetings again” Glad you enjoyed it Nic
Terry spoke about his experiences on buses, namely the G1 on his way to work the bell kept ringing on its own without anyone pressing the button. He even gave advice to the driver to take the bus out of service when he gets to the destination.
Thank you TFL for having us at this meeting. We are looking forward to having more meetings on different modes of transport such as the Tube, Elizabeth Line, Boats, Trains and Trams.
Information about TFL services can be found on their website.
