On the 24th of October 2024 Generate Voices had another session with the organization Lewisham Speaking Up talking about what they do and what campaigns they are running.
Ellie provided the presentation. Going over People’s Parliament Reps. Introductions from their team.
They were elected representatives of Lewisham Speaking Up.
The members of the organization spoke about their topics of choice
- Iffy said she enjoys the transport topic
- Dinesh enjoys talking about scams and how to avoid them
The members from Lewisham Speaking Up spoke about their experiences and problems in reporting a hate crime.
Iffy shared about things becoming very unsafe
Michelle shared being a part of a hate crime group and people targeted them
Thomas Said “I don’t think police officers do much“
Dinesh “Police officers should positively engage with the community including people with disabilities”
It was an amazing session with our visitors as they discussed what topics Lewisham Speaking Up should cover in the future and if Generate Voices should get involved.

The Next People’s Parliament for Lewisham Speaking Up is on the 6th of December 2024 at the Catford Civic Suite at Lewisham Town Hall.
