Generate Voices Thanksgiving Session

On the 28th of November 2024 Generate Voices celebrated Thanksgiving for the very first time alongside Generate Staff member Sanam Shaikh.

The members learned about the history of Thanksgiving and why it was important for those in the United States of America and Canada also a famous proclamation was read out and it was written by The 16th President of the United States  President Abraham Lincoln.

The proclamation states

“I do therefore, invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next as a day of Thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens”

That was the famous proclamation by President Lincoln.

The food we had as part of the Thanksgiving celebrations was mac & cheese with biscuits with cheese & onion rolls.
