Generate Voices Shopping Online For The Festive Season

Generate Voices had a session about shopping online for the festive season also food for the festive season included.

We asked members what shop they use when buying items online. We started with an ice breaker which was you have got a shopping voucher that is worth £50. You shop online using that voucher.

We asked what shop they would use that voucher on and why?

Sean said:  “So for £50 voucher that I would spend it on is at Asda for Decorations and also for alcohol for the Christmas season and also you can buy Christmas crackers as well.”

Michelle said: “If I had been given a shopping voucher for £50 and I had to do it online I would get Christmas presents maybe on Amazon but my favorite one at the moment is Temu.”

Jodian said: “For £50 I would spend it on either a Christmas present or clothes.”

Sanam said: “I like Michelle’s answer If I had £50 I would use Amazon but since its got pricey I would use Temu.”

Luis said: “If that was me with £50 voucher I would buy food for shopping or a chocolate Calendar. (advent calendar)”

Chiz said: “If I had £50 and if I had an Aldi or a Lidl near by I would go in there and get a nice Christmas spread and some drinks. It would all be within £50 with some crackers and little fancy hats to put on our heads as well.”

Terry said: “If I had £50 I would get a train set from Hornby with a few carriages.”

Malachi said: “I would spend it on clothes mostly casual stuff.”

After the ice breaker we asked how many of the members if they shopped on Black Friday or Cyber Monday

Sanam said: “I shopped on Black Friday and Cyber Monday even though I didn’t planned to.”

Michelle: “i know I’ve brought online on Black Friday never heard of Cyber Monday.”

We then asked everyone do they shop online regularly?

Sean said: “I do shop regularly but its only when my mum needs anything or we go shopping together to get all the food or any stuff for the kitchen.” He then added he only shops for rings only if he needs to.

Terry said: “I do go shopping when my parents need me to go shopping or if I am going to a steam train event they give me money for my wallet to get souvenirs.”

Michelle Said: “Sometimes I could be online shopping near enough everyday because its easy to spend more than you might have. I do like going shopping in shops if you towards the end of the day before the sale ends”

Jodian said: “I usually go shopping twice a day so it could be a weekday or Saturday or Sunday sometimes I do market shopping or sometimes I got to Brixton to do my shopping and most of my time I do shopping in  Sainsbury’s I do shop online with Amazon.”

Malachi: “Last time I went shopping was September last year but my Grandma gets it for me instead”

Shop Online or shop In person?

We touched on shopping for food during the festive season at supermarkets such as Asda, Aldi, Tesco, Sainsbury’s or Marks & Spencer’s

Most of our members prefer to go to the shop in person than online because some of them said most items they order go missing or get damaged in transit.

The  members like shopping at different supermarkets but some prefer  the one supermarket they know where to purchase items from if there is a sale on.
